Ravenna

In the heart of the Mediterranean

The port of Ravenna is the only commercial port in Emilia-Romagna and one of the main ports in the Adriatic Sea for freight traffic.
Its strategic position also makes it a leading port in Italy for business with the Eastern markets, Mediterranean countries and the Far East. The connection with the road and railway network makes it easily accessible from the main Italian and European markets.

LOADING AND UNLOADING OF GOODS

The Group's terminals can manage the loading and unloading of liquid and bulk goods of a large variety of types and sizes.

STORAGE AND WAREHOUSING OF GOODS

The terminals offer large storage spaces, such as uncovered areas, warehouses and tanks equipped for storing inert items, ferrous materials, liquids and many other different types of goods.

INTERNATIONAL FREIGHT TRANSPORT

Sapir can manage large flows of traffic to Northern and Southern Italy and to all Central Europe thanks to its strategic position and its rail and road connections.

PROJECT CARGO

Sapir is the preferred terminal on the Adriatic Sea for handling exceptionally large or heavy items.

FERROUS MATERIALS

Over 20,000 square meters of covered spaces are equipped exclusively for the storage of ferrous materials.

BULK GOODS

SAPIR specializes in unloading, loading, storage and dispatch of bulk goods as well as packaged products.

TANK PARK

The tank park has an overall storage capacity of 84,000 m³. It is complete with berthing areas equipped for unloading directly into the tanks and with a liquid feed production plant.

RAILWAY LINK

SAPIR can manage the transfer of goods by rail using its own 14 km railway line serving the terminals.

CONTAINERS AND RO-RO CARGO SHIPS

The container terminal in the Port of Ravenna is a strategic gateway for trading goods with Eastern Mediterranean countries.

At the end of the 1950s, men like Enrico Mattei believed in the Port of Ravenna and created Sapir to build and develop it. Since then, the Company has become a terminal operator and today it is at the head of a solid and well-organized entrepreneurial Group.
It has consistently taken action to innovate the Port’s facilities and strengthen its safety features, thus becoming one of the most significant operators in the sector in Italy.
Today we are carrying forward our plans to strengthen the Port’s infrastructure with unprecedented investments, driven by an ever-more efficient customer service as we strongly believe we are one of the main logistics hubs for trade in the Mediterranean.
